What, if anything, made you laugh in the past 24 hours. If nothing made you laugh, write about something that made you smile. If nothing made you laugh or smile—write about why.

The German language is properly hysterical. Now, I have been with my German missus for going on 12 years (hasn't strangled me in my sleep once) and we used to go visit her family 2 or 3 times a year, its only 1h20 from Gatwick but you lose an hour because they can't tell the fking time correctly in Germany or whatever it is.
So anyway there is a German word "Tschüss" it's like "see you later", it's an informal way to say "goodbye". So first visit to Germany, we are in Berlin Airport, at a kiosk buying snacks and as we leave the missus waves at the teller and says "Jews"...
Me "what did you say to to that guy?...Jews?"...
Missus "yeah Jews, its like bye."
Me "Jews?"
Missus.."yeah Jews?...its see ya."
Now the way "Tschüss" is pronounced in German is absolutely, audiologically indistinguishable from the word "Jews."
So since 2013, I have Said Jews to almost every German I have spoken to, and I have lived here now for over 3 years.
Because of Russia being naughty, Germany are tooling up again and we all know how that ends, I'm just making sure they are reminded, regularly, you never know what might help.
Now, I have been watching the Euro 24 football tournament in German as my vpn doesn't wanna work with my "smart tv"
Let me introduce you to the German word for "team."
Mannschaft
This is a noun that refers to a team or group of people who work together, often in a sport or other competitive activity"
It's pronounced exactly how you think and every time a pundit or commentator says "team" they say "manshaft." It's hilarious.
Now I have to find a way to work the word "team" into every conversation over here.
I have just been watching England vs Slovenia and tbh I didn't even know Slovenia was a country, I thought it was the capital of Slovakia or something. Austria played Holland earlier, they speak German in Austria but the Austrians don't call their country Austria, this is how Austria chose to call its country...."Österreich." So now im banned from visiting the land of killer dinosaur birds because its too funny or something.
I have to watch the 2nd half of the match now and if we fumble it we could go out, or worse, have to face Germany in the next round. My missus doesn't believe me that if I was physically on the pitch I would take one kick, wallop! 6 goals.
Oh and the English have finally freed Julian Assange 🤘🤘🤘.
Apologies for the impromptu German lesson. Learning languages is hard af.
Peace and love

This week on #FactorySettings @justjeren and I talk about the elephant in the room. MONEY! We talk about when we first became aware of it, how it affected our parents' divorces, how much we spent on our addiction, being dependent, financial insecurity and so much more!

Hello new followers, I hope I don’t disappoint you. I want this place to feel like home, where we can escape the Thunderdome and process the world. Where we can post dog pics and recipes and book recommendations. Where we support each other as we get sober, lose weight, embark on new business opportunities, creative endeavors, relationships and travels. I want this to be your oasis of sanity and laughter in an increasingly mad world. A creative outlet where you can share your spirit with us.
We might not have any control over the news cycle—but we can control our habits and attitude. It all starts with us. And hopefully a little piece of that will start here.

The writing prompts are back! And since everyone is talking about "what is a woman?" I thought we should dig into our Factory Settings and find out what we learned about this stuff.
