What role does music play in your life?
What a perfect prompt for tonight, as I’m listening to a mix that was on my original website back in 2006. A supporter (and now friend) found it on the Wayback Machine and recreated it on Spotify. This instantly takes me back to when I launched the first iteration of Phetasy and then took my brand on the road, driving around America for several months. It was the February 23, 2006 and I had big dreams.
When the first song on this mix “Intro" begins playing I can actually feel myself merging onto the freeway to head out on my grand adventure. I was leaving Rhode Island to head down to Miami for my first stop. It would be the beginning of a grand disaster, one that would leave me without a home and eventually, bankrupt. But I didn’t know that at the time. At the time I had a fancy new website, a car full of merch, and dreams of guerrilla marketing my way to the top.
